This weeks blog is more on chicken and how they are not being treated fairly

The chickens in Ireland are heavily divided there is free-range chickens and factory farmed chickens. The factory farms don't treat chickens with a fair life, instead they are put  into a room that is crowded and overpopulated. They are underfed and forced to grow and die at an early stage of life. This is cruel and unfair to the chickens and doesn't give them a chance to exercise and have a healthy life. When they are overfed they become top heavy and cannot hold their own weight and become unable to move this then stops them from being able to eat the little food provided to them killing them at too early of a stage in life.

But the free ranged chickens are treated a lot better and have a much better life. They are able to eat the correct proportions and are allowed to exercise daily so that they are living a happier and more healthy life. They also live longer and produce better quality chicken because of this method. The only problem is that because it takes a lot longer for the animals to fully grow for production it costs more to purchase free range chicken. This means more people will buy the factory farmed chicken which promotes cruelty towards chickens and puts lots of free range farms out of business.

There should be laws against this cruelty to these chickens but he only way to help is not not buy factory farmed goods. So the next time you are trying to find chicken in the market or shop, make sure it is free ranged and not factory farmed, for the animals sake.
